Age Spots, or Sun Spots, are those brown spots and patches that appear on the skin after years of fun in the sun.  They can be effectively removed with a laser!

Sun spots, age spots, liver spots, freckles, solar lentigines, and other benign pigmented lesions resulting from sun-damage can be removed from nearly any body area.

We use the Syneron-Candela GentleYAG Laser with a “painting” technique to remove age spots, especially on the face, arms, hands, chest and back.

For pigmented lesions such as sunspots and age spots due to sun damaged skin and other factors, results become apparent a few days after the first treatment. For darker and well-defined spots in which the melanin is close to the surface, 1-3 treatments are typically all that is needed. After treatment, these spots turn slightly darker and “grayish”.  In three to five days, they become “crusty” and simply flake off.  This leaves perfectly virgin skin underneath.

For larger pigmented areas in which the melanin is deeper and irregular, such as melasma or café-au-lai, progressive fading will accumulate over 3-6 successive treatments.

Treatments and Proper Skincare
Immediately following most laser procedures, patients will experience some redness and slight swelling of the treated area, which usually dissipates within a few hours, though in rare cases may last a few days. To enhance the results and promote the overall long-term health of your skin, specially formulated medical-grade moisturizers, exquisite skincare regimens and makeup (if desired) are applied to the treated area immediately after each procedure. Additionally, hair growth may be impaired in the treated area, although it is not the intended purpose of this particular treatment.

Depending on the underlying medical conditions and life style factors that give rise to these pigmented lesions, such as sunspots and age spots, periodic maintenance treatments may be needed for optimal, lasting results.
